Batman Arkham City Lockdown coming to iOS

iOS users will soon have their own Arkham City to play called Lockdown, it has already hits the app store in New Zealand and should be in other stores soon (perhaps after midnight on 12/8):

“The inmates have escaped and Batman has his hands full defeating an army of henchmen and some of his most iconic villains. Scour the rooftops and the seedy underbelly of Gotham City through a series of one-on-one battles with the Joker, Two-Face and more, as well as the Batman: Arkham City Lockdown exclusive – Deathstroke. Choose from several Batman skins and power-ups as you punch, kick and combo your way to cleaning up Gotham City.”

According to IGN:

Warner Brothers today stealth-released a brand new Batman iOS title titled Batman Arkham City Lockdown. The game is live now on the New Zealand App Store for $8.29NZ ($6 – $7 USD). It is not yet available in the US, but it is likely the title will be available for American gamers tonight at midnight.

The game was developed by Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios

For now details are scarce, but near as we can tell Arkham City Lockdown is a one on one brawler with touch and swipe controls, similar to Infinity Blade. Players tap the screen to dodge attacks, and swipe the screen to counter-attack. Batman has a variety of upgrades to purchase, as well as multiple Batman skins to choose from.

It is not unusual for iOS games to hit New Zealand and Australia several hours before the US, Canada, or Europe. Apple sends game live one territory at a time, so many games frequently pop up in early time zones first.
