"I think that Batman exists in this very precarious state of somebody who has very negative impulses, but tries to channel them into something good, and I think that's a very human dilemma, and one that in this film we see infect more and more people, and I think the Joker is very much the catalyst for that infection."

------------------------------

Marking an exciting departure from the recent dark depictions of Batman, the new series is a more light-hearted, humorous take on the brooding, deep thinking super hero in which fans will see Batman being teamed up with other crime-fighting super heroes from across the DC Universe including the Red Tornado, the Blue Beetle and Aquaman.

Visually brighter, the non-stop action, new cast of heroes and villains, limitless environments and new gadgets, gear and vehicles will play directly to a younger audience whilst also appealing to adults fans and collectors.  The new series opens up a realm of new opportunities for licensees across all product categories and greatly broadens the appeal of the brand.

SEASON 1

EPISODE #1 - RISE OF THE BLUE BEETLE!

 PRODUCTION DETAILS:

SYNOPSIS:
The Blue Beetle's suit takes him and Batman to a world enslaved by Kanjar Ro. With Batman's help, the Blue Beetle must prove that he is a hero to those depending on him.

TEASER:
Batman and the Green Arrow battle the Clock King. This episode
teaser doesn't end before the main title credits like the rest of the series but is seen by Jaime Reyes and his friend Poco.

REVIEW:

This is defiantly a great start to the series with Batman teaming up with the Blue Beetle to initially take on a comic threat, but both end up being transported across space to meet a bunch of oppressed Aliens (who have met a previous version of the Blue Beetle) at the hands of the evil Kanjar Ro.

This is the Blue Beetles  chance to take control of his powers by becoming a leader, but the idol worshipping ends up going to his head. This leads to the Capture of Batman and the Blue Beetle, who is striped of his blue scarab and we see Kanjar Ro wearing the beetle costume, which is quickly stripped of by Jamie Reyes proving to himself that its not the costume that makes the hero.

The humor throughout this episode comes from both Batman and Blue Beetle, with just enough funny one liners to make it enjoyable but not to put first time viewers off the show completely.

EPISODE #2 - TERROR ON DINOSAUR ISLAND!

 PRODUCTION DETAILS:

SYNOPSIS: After taking down Gentleman Ghost, Batman and Plastic Man track Gorilla Grodd to Dinosaur Island, where the ape has created a machine that will turn the entire human population into gorillas. Plastic Man proves greedy, but in the end must overcome his greed to defeat Gorilla Grodd, who has turned Batman into an ape.

REVIEW:

Fantastic episode with the introduction of Plastic Man and villain Gorilla Grodd, who's evil scheme is to transform the world into ape slaves under his mind control. The episode starts off with Batman and Plastic Man chasing the Gentleman Ghost (this is the only episode that a main character has featured in both the teaser and main episode), when Batman is nearly sent to his grave only to be saved by Fire who turns up just in time to take down the Ghost. This also sets the tone of the episode, focusing on Plastic Man's obsession with money and Batman trying to keep Plastic Man on the straight and narrow as they find themselves stranded on Dinosaur Island.

When trying to get close to Gorilla Grodd's evil plan, Batman ends up getting captured due to Plastic Man's blunder, turning him into the hero of the episode as he tries to save Batman.
